Le festival a lieu en ligne cette année, du 29 mai au 7 juin. The Brooklyn Film Festival begins today! Sisters: Dream & Variations is presented in official competition in the Documentary Feature Films category. The festival is happening online this year, from May 29 to June 7. L’art en héritage

Lors de la journée internationale des femmes, le 8 mars dernier, le magazine Spirale en profitait pour publier un article sur mon documentaire, “L’art en héritage“, de Justine Falardeau. En voici un extrait, qui fait référence aux séquences d’animation dans le film: “C’est dans ces moments, qui permettent d’ailleurs au film d’avoir une signature visuelle intéressante, que l’on quitte le terrain de la réalité, ou en tout cas du réalisme, pour entrer dans celui du rêve et du jeu.”

Je suis très heureuse de faire parti de la sélection documentaire des RVQC! “Sisters: Dream & Variations” est en compétition pour le Prix Pierre-et-Yolande-Perrault! Le film sera présenté le 5 mars à 21h15, en version sous-titrée en français (“Soeurs: rêve et variations”). Mettez la date à votre agenda, je serai à la Cinémathèque avec d’autres membres de l’équipe pour partager ça avec vous!

The world premiere of Sisters: Dream & Variations was screened at Cinema Quartier Latin, co-presented by RIDM and Pop Montreal. The film was part of the official selection, in the “New Visions Competition”

La première de Soeurs : rêve et variations avait lieu au Cinéma du Quartier Latin, co-présenté par les RIDM et Pop Montréal. Le film faisait parti de la sélection officielle, dans la catégorie “Compétition Nouveaux Regards”.

New Spring in the Dead of Winter launches its webpage http://nyvor-newspring.com/

New Spring in the Dead of Winter is an interdisciplinary performance project made by artists from Montréal, Canada, during their residency at Arts Iceland in Isafjordur from may 1st-28th which will then be presented in Iceland and Montreal. Sparked by the Icelandic texts derived from songs sung by our great-grandmother Ingibjorg Gudmundsdottir (1891-1994), this project arcs through 4 generations of women.

In New Spring visual worlds by Zuzu Knew parallel music made by Syngja, both infused by the same themes of personified nature and mythic archetypes. Their reinterpretations have become an original performance; compositions and songs with Cello, electronics, synthesizer and voice with costumes and projections that combine to create an immersive experience, both visceral and surreal.

Syngja has performed around the world, most notably for the Société des arts technologiques (SAT), Festival TransAmériques, festival MEG, M for Montreal, Suoni Per Il Popolo, Pop Montreal, Mono No Aware (Brooklyn), and BeauHaus (Brussels).

Zuzu Knew has made costumes for Tanya Tagaq, Laakkukuk Williamson Bathory, Klo Pelgag and Tommy Kruise. She has made interdisciplinary work for MIX NYC, Koumaria in Athens, Greece and NXNE, Toronto.
