FANNY: The Right to Rock made the front page of the Los Angeles Daily News as the film opens in LA this week! The screening at the The Landmark Westwood cinema was followed with live performances by Fanny bandmates Brie Darling & Patti Quatro (w/Dave Darling).anny

A year after winning the coveted Audience Choice Award at Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, FANNY: The Right to Rock wins the Audience Choice Award at the Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival! The following week, Bobbi Jo Hart’s film also won the Best Documentary Award at the Immaginaria Film Festival in Italy! The film is poised to launch into cinemas across the USA soon!

It is with great joy and gratitude that I receive this nomination, which I share with the director, Bobbi Jo Hart, who took risks by throwing herself body and soul into this project and who brought to light extraordinary musicians, the legendary FANNY. Aujourd’hui, sur CRAVE, le documentaire FANNY : The Right to Rock, de Bobbi Jo Hart, est enfin disponible en ligne partout au Canada! Vous pouvez lire d’excellentes critiques sur le film dans Le Devoir, The Montreal Gazette et The Globe and Mail, dans lequel mon nom et mon travail de montage sont mentionnés, si je peux me vanter un peu “C’est expertement monté par Catherine Legault”. Allez voir ça! (En version française, le titre du film est “FANNY: pionnières du rock”)
FANNY: The Right to Rock, un film que j’ai monté, réalisé par Bobbi Jo Hart, débute en salle ce lundi, 18 octobre, à 21h00 au Cinéma du Parc. C’est l’histoire incroyable des pionnières du Rock & Roll FANNY, le premier groupe de femmes à avoir sorti un LP dans les années 70, avant même The Runaways et The Go-Go’s. Après avoir fait le tour du monde et gagné de multiples prix, le film sort enfin ici! Ne manquez pas ça 😀
FANNY: The Right to Rock, a film I edited, directed by Bobbi Jo Hart, premieres in theaters this Monday, October 18, at 9:00 p.m. at the Cinéma du Parc. It’s the incredible story of the Rock & Roll pioneers FANNY, the first all-women band to release an LP in the 1970s, even before The Runaways and The Go-Go’s. After touring the world and winning multiple awards, the film is finally coming out here! Don’t miss it 😀
